Trash
Deleting does not lose anything straight away. Whatever you delete from a brand moves to Trash, where you can see what went, restore it, or remove it for good.
What Trash holds
Trash is a brand-level page, and it collects everything you delete from that brand, not just rules. A deleted rule, rule group, component, block, token, asset, or content item all land here, each labeled with its kind and the place it came from.
Every entry also shows when it was deleted and who deleted it. The time reads as "3 days ago", with the exact timestamp behind it.
Deletes are grouped, not listed flat
Trash lists one entry per delete, not one per affected item. Deleting something that has items beneath it takes those items with it, and they appear nested under the delete that hid them rather than as separate rows. Expand a row with Show what this delete hides to see them.
This matters when you come to restore. The items hidden by a delete are not restorable on their own, because they were never deleted in their own right. Restore the delete and everything it hid comes back with it.
If you deleted something earlier, further down the same branch, that earlier delete nests inside the newer one and cannot be restored until the outer delete is. Work from the outside in.
Restore an item
Open Trash
Trash sits under Workspace in the brand sidebar.
Find the delete
Look for the entry you want back. If it is not a top-level row, expand the rows above it: it was hidden by a larger delete and comes back with that one.
Restore it
Restore returns the item to its place, along with anything the same delete hid. It goes back into the ruleset your AI tools read.
Delete something for good
Delete forever removes a single entry from Trash permanently. Empty Trash does the same for everything in it. Neither can be undone.
If other items still depend on what you are purging, the confirmation says so before you continue. Read that warning rather than clicking through it, because the dependent items are affected too and there is no way back.
Nothing in Trash is purged on a timer. Items stay until you remove them, so an accidental delete is recoverable however long it takes you to notice.
Deletes and connected projects
Deleting a brand item suspends the project data that hangs off it. A project's rule overrides, token value overrides, visibility settings, and links all depend on the brand item they point at, and they stop applying while it sits in Trash.
Trash tells you this before it happens. An entry that suspends work a project added of its own, such as an override on the deleted item, says which projects and what. Projects that merely inherit the item are counted separately, because every project inherits the whole brand and that alone is not news. Restoring the item brings the suspended project data back with it.
Deleted brands
A whole brand does not land here. When you move a brand to Trash from Brand settings, it goes to the organization's Trash, in the org sidebar, and everything authored inside it stays with it.
The org Trash is simpler than this one: brands are never purged, so Restore is the only move, and a deleted brand can come back any time. Its projects went with it and each is restorable on its own.
For how rules are grouped in the first place, see Organizing rules.
