An organization is your workspace in UI Rules. It holds your brands, your teammates, and your billing in one place.

## What an organization holds

Every organization brings together three things:

- **Brands.** A brand is a complete design language plus ruleset, and the source of truth that UI Rules serves to AI tools. An organization can hold multiple brands.
- **Members.** The teammates you invite to collaborate, each with a role. See [Members and roles](/docs/organizations/members-and-roles).
- **Billing.** The plan and subscription that apply across the organization.

## Organizations and brands

An organization is the container. A brand lives inside it.

Most teams keep one organization and add a brand for each design language they maintain. If you manage several distinct brands (for example, a parent brand and a sub-brand), you hold them all in the same organization and switch between them as you work. Each brand keeps its own styles, library, content, rules, and connected projects.

A brand is the source of truth served to AI tools by default. Projects (connected apps) inherit the brand ruleset and can add sparse overrides.

## Switching organizations

If you belong to more than one organization, use the organization switcher to move between them. Switching changes the brands, members, and billing you see, so your context follows the organization you have selected.
