Members are the teammates who collaborate in your organization. Each member has a role that sets what they can do.

## Invite a teammate

<Steps>
<Step>
### Open members

Go to your organization settings and open the members area.
</Step>
<Step>
### Send an invite

Enter your teammate's email address and choose a role. They receive an invite to join the organization.
</Step>
<Step>
### Confirm they joined

Once they accept, they appear in the members list with the role you assigned. You can change a member's role later.
</Step>
</Steps>

## Roles

UI Rules has three roles: owner, admin, and member.

### Owner

The owner is the person who created the organization. The owner has full control, including billing and the ability to delete the organization.

<Callout type="info">
There is one owner, and the owner is the creator. You cannot invite someone as an owner.
</Callout>

### Admin

An admin can manage the organization day to day, including inviting and managing members. Use this role for teammates who help run the workspace.

### Member

A member can collaborate on brands within the organization. Use this role for teammates who author and edit but do not need to manage the organization itself.

Owners and admins can invite and remove members. Only an owner can change who owns the organization, and the last owner cannot be removed.

## Members without a seat

If the organization has more members than its plan covers, the members list marks the ones past the limit **No seat**. The owner always keeps a seat, and everyone else keeps theirs in the order they joined. A member without a seat sees "Your seat is unavailable" when they open the organization; their account and their other organizations are not affected. Upgrading, or removing members until the rest fit, gives the seats back. See [Plans](/docs/billing/plans#when-you-hold-more-than-your-plan-covers).
